In this episode, you will discover 3 Techniques that will help you survive the crazy in-laws during the holiday seasons. According to one study, family gathering is the fourth leading cause of stress – a whopping 44% of people are stressed out during these times. Imagine, a time that is supposed to be relaxing and fun is more stressful than anything. For some families the stress goes up another 10-15% when certain in-law meCrazy in-law survivalmbers are present.

Not all families experience this. This is more common among Western family gathering because of the cultural expectations and stereotypes. For some culture, family gathering is everything. It is a welcome experience.

What Jen McDonough and I discussed in this episode are 3 of 7 Techniques that will help you maintain your sanity at family gathering, during the holidays season. Our focus is on the added stress when the crazy in-laws is in the mix.

We build these techniques around the body parts. The 3 body parts are the:

Mouth – how to turn a conversation away from conflict or tension topics

Eyes – how to send a message to the crazy in-laws that you are not going to be drawn into their crazy world

Butt – how to remove yourself from the line of fire in a safe and diplomatic manner

As you listen, it would be interesting to hear your take on this. Is it too simplistic? Would this work for you? Leave your comment below.
