To have a more productive day is a choice that you and I make each and everyday. I know this from personal experience. I don’t always have a productive day. As a matter of fact I used to think I had more How To Have A More Productive Dayunproductive days than productive. This is so when I do not practice gratitude and celebration of the small wins.

We are so programmed most of the time to look for that big win. We keep our eyes on the “prize” to the detriment of overlooking daily victories. Some times it’s also from the non-stop pressure we place upon ourselves.

In this episode, you will discover how to change that pattern; break that cycle. I’m not all there yet, but I’ve found this shift, which by the way is very unorthodox at least for me, to be the key to my success. The shift that I’m referencing is that of meditation, affirmation and petition. It is what I’ve termed: MAP my way to a Productive Day, where the word MAP becomes an acronym for Meditation, Affirmation and Petition.

Most people understand the first two but have some questions for the P – Petition. Petition is simply asking or seeking. As a person of faith (a believer in Christ) I petition God to help me each day to have a productive day. The only difference this time around for me is adding the meditation and affirmation.

Towards the end of 2014 and the beginning of 2015, I have added this ritual as outlined.

I’m getting up most mornings – I’m still new at this – earlier than I normally do. Earlier is 15 to 30 minutes earlier. During this time, I go through my new ritual.

I created a Meditation and Affirmation audio and I sit in the dark with my headset, and listen first to the meditation audio for 15 minutes, followed by the affirmation audio for 5 minutes. I then petition God for his help. I sometimes read my bible before I go through petitioning God for his help.

I’ve found this to be very helpful and I look forward to each morning to go through this ritual.

As you listen, it would be interesting to hear your ritual. Would this work for you? Leave your comment below.
