THE SKEPTIC

I’ve often heard of people who have done incredible things in a very short time and at times I must admit that I was skeptical of their claims.

Why was I skeptical? Is it that I thought it was just not feasible and even impossible?

Or …

… was I being jealous and sometimes even envious?

That’s a question I have to ask myself and in being completely honest, I think some of the latter was behind my skepticism.

MAKE EXCUSES

We often see in others what we want for ourselves. And when we are not in possession of such for whatever reason OR feel that we don’t have what it takes to achieve their success, we make-up excuses and sometimes hate on those people.

We find reasons to make ourselves feel better.

I’ve done that.

I recall my doctor telling me over a year ago that I needed to lose some weight. I’m not an obese person. No one would look at me and say that I looked overweight.

I hid it well. Haha.

My body frame is such that it shows more in my stomach area and around my waist than elsewhere. I’m sure it would eventually show elsewhere.

I’ve been a fairly active person. I’ve exercised off and on for quite some time.

MAKE THE DECISION

But I decided to take it seriously starting around April/May of 2017.

I decided to workout 5-days per week, which I’ve done since then.

My goal was to lose 10 lbs then. I’ve since then lost 20 lbs.

However, I plateaued. I maintained. I needed to lose some more.

My reason was that I wanted to see my abs as silly as that sounded. But it became a part of my bigger why, which is better health.

One of my goals this year was to lose an extra 10 lbs. I had gained 5 lbs of the 20 that I had lost. So, 10 lbs would be a net 5 lbs gain. I hope I didn’t lose you there. 😃

TOOK ACTION

Anyway, on January 8th, 2018, my wife and I started a 10-day Green Smoothie Cleanse. The author of the book and the program is JJ Smith. You can get the book on Amazon and elsewhere.

I weigh myself every day for the past several months, which has now become a habit. I began to notice the weight loss after a couple of days and with exercise, I knew that I could lose the 10 lbs.

THE RESULTS

Today, January 18th, 2018, the scale showed that I’ve lost 11 lbs.

I celebrated with a cup of coffee, which I couldn’t have for the 10-days as well as an omelet. Oooooh! Everything tasted so good. 😃

Here’s the takeaway: You can do what you take action on. Just start.

In my last post, I shared with you about how confidence is overrated. If you haven’t read it as yet, please do.

You just need to take the first step towards your goal. Don’t over think it. The longer you do, the more you won’t.

What is your “10lbs” that you need to work towards? Your side hustle business? Your book? Losing weight? Earning extra income? What is it?

By having my wife as an accountability partner, a structure: the 10-day guide on each day smoothie, and a why, I made it happen. This is the formula for accomplishing your goals.

That’s what I’m here to help you with:

  1. Being your accountability partner
  2. Giving you a structure
  3. Establishing a clear why
