LOSS OF APPETITE IS MORE THAN FOOD
I recently read an article that I thought I would share with you because of how I believe it fits within the scope of emails I’ve sent you recently.
At first, you might not think so especially when I share what the article was about.
The article from Yahoo news was about sneezing. Yes, you are reading correctly.
I know you might be wondering what does sneezing have to do with goals, accomplishing goals, confidence and other mindset topics I’ve shared with you so far.
I too would wonder if I didn’t see the connection.
According to this article, “… stifling a sneeze can rupture your throat, burst an eardrum, or pop a blood vessel in your brain,” researchers warned …
Even though I don’t do this I know some people who do so quite frequently. I hope you’re not one of them.
The article went on to say that:
“a 34-year-old man showed up at the emergency service of a hospital in Leicester, England recently, with a swollen neck and in extreme pain.
“The patient described a popping sensation in his neck after he tried to halt a sneeze by pinching the nose and holding his mouth closed,” doctors detailed in a study published in the medical journal BMJ Case Reports.
A CAT scan confirmed what they suspected: the force of the suppressed sneeze had ruptured and torn open the back of the throat.
The man — who could barely swallow or talk — was admitted to the hospital, where he was tube-fed and given intravenous antibiotics until the swelling and pain subsided.”
Imagine all that for not wanting to let the force of the sneeze pass through his mouth freely.
IT’S TIED TO WHAT WAS TAUGHT
I wonder where he learned that.
Somewhere along the line, he learned that the “proper” thing to do to NOT spread germs, is to keep his sneeze to himself.
Maybe that “teaching” was well intended but the consequences of following this kind of advice led to his injury and subsequent hospitalization.
What are you holding in because you have learned it’s better or best to do so?
Here’s one thing I learned as I grew up: Don’t seek to get wealthy.
It was not directly taught that way to me but the implication was that to do so wasn’t a godly thing. It was greed and we know where greedy people go. Right?
With this kind of lesson, I would not want to SEEK to get rich. Oh no! I didn’t want to seem greedy and ungodly. So I held it in. I don’t want to be seen that way. So I suppressed what needed to come out.
As I’ve gotten older, I realized that if what I want to do, help people the way I envision, especially the down and out, I need to have lots of money.
BELIEF SYSTEMS ARE FORMED
I had to work on my BS (Belief Systems) of what I’ve learned so that I could finally sneeze and spread my “germs.” This germ is putting it–my intentions–out there into the world. That’s my sneeze. I had to have a mindset reset.
What is your “sneeze” that you need to be putting out there? What’s holding you back? Why aren’t you “sneezing?”
Do you, like me have some BS—Belief System—that have or is keeping you back? Are you suppressing your “sneeze?”
If you have, we need to change that right now.
DON’T LET IT HAPPEN TO YOU
The last thing I want is for you to do as that 34-year-old-man did, not to your throat, but to your dream and desires. Someone out there needs to be “infected.”
