In this episode my guest Paul Blais received a cancer diagnosis on February 11th of 2013, yet he has found a way to forge ahead bringing incredible value to his podcast and blogging audience. my guest

Paul Blais - Diagnosed with cancerPaul: If you have ever been confronted with your mortality, then you will understand the reevaluation that one goes through in times like this. I decided it was time to stop thinking “one day” because I had to face the fact that I may not have too many more of those one-days left. If not now, then probably never.”

I wanted to find a way to encourage people to say, I can do it. Many people have a similar behavior toward their dreams- they think one day, or else they just say if only. I am convinced that with a little prodding and a little encouragement people can get past their inhibitions and find the path to their dreams.

Paul Blais’ Brief Bio:

I have been an entrepreneur for most of my adult life. I’ve run a number of businesses – both for profit and not-for profit. For the majority of the past twelve years I have been running my electrical contracting business, The Electric Connection. Through this business I have had the privilege of designing some of the nicest homes in this little corner of Washington State. Along with creative and beautiful lighting designs, I also designed home audio systems, theater rooms, home networking, and security systems.

But in the back of my mind there was always a longing to be a writer and speaker. Like many writers, I like the idea of having written more than actually writing. But I knew I needed to just write. So I kept a blog on the side and spoke at various events, but nothing too seriously. But I always thought I’d eventually get to it all one day. Until …

Paul made some additional comments as outlined below.

* There are 7 days in a week and some day is not one of them.

* I was diagnosed with cancer and then realize that some day may not come. I had to do things now.

* I lived in the shadow of being dead in 18 months. I still do

* It was like being sucker punched in the stomach

* I have hope .. some people don’t have hope. I’m not alone in my pain ..

* Most people get distracted when they are going through challenges like mine .. they feel like no one knows what they are going through ..
